A positive trend is confirmed for a some seasons, but above that shows how the leadership of the yarn is at home here in Florence at Pitti Filati.

Wonderful as ever (maybe more!), The Spazio Ricerca, curated by Angelo Figus and Nicola Miller. For this edition, the theme was “The Passenger”, the travel and the travelers are the protagonists. Spring and Summer seasons are particularly favorable to the discovery and knowledge of places, people and things. The trip is definitely the most suitable to accommodate this need. But traveling is too much, how to interpret our dreams, it means freedom, satisfy our autonomy, our desire to escape and adventure, and, why not, live limited, periodically or permanently, an another life. The atmosphere inside the Spazio Ricerca with mannequins dressed and the yarns inside of vintage suitcases, it was really magical and beautiful.

“THE WALK”. A “spiritual” journey, the clothing is comfortable and simple. The appearance of the knitwear and yarns is natural but hides a soul synthetic and technology that allows a performance and a very easy maintenance. The synthetic fibers take in this issue look natural.

LINEAPIU’ and LINEAPIU’ KNIT ART. Again, you can not “limit” to call yarns, but they seem (are) art tapestries. Never label, KNIT ART, it seemed to me more appropriate !. They could be hanging in a museum and no one would notice the difference between the other works of art. Truly remarkable the seasonal effort, from the company, to create ethereal, shiny, precious yarns and such beautiful designs. It was purchased and “saved” (especially not to be sold off and passed into foreign hands) from Bastagli, known Tuscan textile entrepreneur. A fine example of entrepreneurship that aims is to profits (the company is doing very well), but also to the preservation of Italian know-how, creativity and enhancement of the textile / artistic heritage of our home, in Italy.

The second part in the coming days.

Good life to everyone!
