Until December 15 there is a beautiful exhibition of Antonio Possenti in the Pitti Palace , Florence, Gallery of Modern Art , Andito degli Angiolini ” Of magic and wonder ,” Antonio Possenti in the collection of the Bank of Cambiano .<\/b><\/p>\n

The exhibition was made possible thanks to the private collection of the Bank of Cambiano that on the occasion of its anniversary one hundred and thirty years, has decided to present to the general public the works of Antonio Possenti . I thank the Bank for the wonderful show (among other things free) and especially for the taste with which it was able to select and purchase the works of the master for its collection<\/p>\n

I’ve always been kidnapped by the art of Possenti , thanks to my dad when I was little I would often see exhibitions dedicated to him , being an artist who collected ; think he is one of the few to have an imagination so rich and multi-faceted as excite young and old. A giant of the imagination !<\/b><\/p>\n

Dream , read, exciting , humorous , passionate, disturbing, fantastic …… when we are talking about\u00a0 Possenti adjectives are ” wasted ” but even quoting them all you can’t decipher or describe the personality .<\/b><\/p>\n

I remember a foreword by Aldo Busi on a catalog of an exhibition in which , describing the master after a meeting , described him as friendly and calm, nothing to do with the clich\u00e9 of the tormented artist , proud and triumphant …. ” Possenti is one that looks back and like himself but is not delight ”\u00a0\u2026\u00a0<\/b>In fact, as for greatest , despite awards, prizes and loyal and devotees collectors all over the world , Antonio Possenti has always maintained humility and sobriety, aware of his immense skill and culture, but with an attitude almost justification for having this ” privilege ” … His value is equal to his modesty.<\/b><\/p>\n

Antonio Possenti was born in Lucca in 1933 , he became as a child , thanks to a culturally vibrant family , a reader hungry and insatiable. The reading was the comfort during the war, becoming the companion of a lifetime.\u00a0<\/b>Self-taught artist ( law degree ) , became interested in drawing at an early age , a fantastic design and satirical , a medium to observe the ” human comedy .” A great traveler , books and travel have marked his life and therefore his work ; cartoonist , after Maccari , in the pages of the weekly “The World” and illustrator of several volumes of the series ” The Bridge.”\u00a0Since 1960 devoted himself to painting , receiving national and international recognition , as well as exposing the main Italian and foreign galleries .<\/p>\n

Once Possenti said that if he did the lawyer would not have won even a cause , well, that conviction was our luck, because as an artist , the result was great!<\/b><\/p>\n

Without irony is difficult to survive in this life … , Possenti has understood this and has drawn the best lesson for all.<\/b><\/p>\n

Because I’m sure that those who give so much to others sacrificed much of their lives , I like to imagine the master happy like a child playing with his kite …., the same hope that I dedicate to all those who do the same , making life better .<\/b><\/p>\n
