There are over 100 contemporary art works that at Forte Belvedere and in some of the symbols of Florence (a unique artistic heritage in the world) will make us company until October, in what we could call a contemporary museum.<\/p>\n

The title of this exhibition, as the same curator of the exhibition, Sergio Risaliti, explained in a press conference, comes from Assisi, precisely in one of the times of the Upper Basilica where Cimabue had written Ytalia at the margins of a representation of Rome city; the eternal city depicted as a very first affirmation of Italian civilization. Many centuries have passed, but also today Italy is the place where art and beauty are the protagonists.<\/p>\n

Glimpse exhibition halls<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Three key words: energy, thought and beauty, serve as an orientation in the search for common formal values of artists, between assonances and conceptual differences, technical and linguistic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition project is promoted by the City of Florence and organized by Mus.e, in collaboration with the Uffizi Gallery, the Opera of Santa Croce and the Museo Marino Marini, all sites where the works will be exhibited together with the great Renaissance masters, as well as in cloisters, crypts and gardens (Boboli).<\/p>\n

Forte Belvedere will be the main stage of these 12 artists, among the most important contemporary names such as Mario Merz, Jannis Kounellis, Alighiero Boetti, Mimmo Paladino, Gino De Dominicis, Nunzio, Giulio Paolini, Giovanni Anselmo, Luciano Fabro, Remo Salvadori , Marco Bagnoli, Domenico Bianchi.<\/p>\n

Other exhibitions are Palazzo Vecchio, Galleria Palatina, Boboli Gardens, Monastery Complex of Santa Croce, Marino Marini Museum, Novecento Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have lived many years in Milan and that is why, by comparing the two realities, I have always “reproached” Florence a certain staticity, a cradle in its past. It was as if the unmatched Renaissance faces did not allow the city to look ahead, to evolve. I am therefore very glad that with this exhibition, Ytalia (the process started some time ago, for example hosting artists such as Jan Fabre or Jeff Koons), give the city of Florence a contemporary image.<\/span><\/p>\n
