From 24 March to 25 June Palazzo Reale presents Helmut Newton. Legacy<\/i><\/b>. 250 photographs and documents of the great German master. Unmissable!<\/p>\n

The retrospective in Milan, curated by Matthias Harder, director of the Helmut Newton Foundation, and by Denis Curti, allows us to admire one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century, who revolutionized fashion photography with his figure, showing, perhaps for the first time, how women were aware of their beauty and their power.<\/p>\n

Alongside images that have rightfully entered the collective imagination, absolutely iconic, there are also unpublished shots, presented for the first time in Italy. Polaroids and contact sheets will allow the visitor to understand the creative process behind the works of the great master.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is divided into chronological chapters, visitors will be able to go through all the phases and transformations of Newton’s life and career.<\/p>\n

His photos have always been characterized by androgynous, detached, aware and beautiful women. Never discounted. The nude photos, elegant and evocative, revealed a woman who stood in front of the man without fear, aware of her own beauty.<\/p>\n

The many services for Vogue, the many adv campaigns for important maisons, have always been characterized by a distinctive, unique, sometimes irreverent sign. His inspiration drew from literature (Histoire d’O by Pauline R\u00e9age), from cinema (from Hitchcock to Liliana Cavani with her wonderful “The Night Porter”), from the art of Goya.<\/p>\n

He was the first to represent a radical nude in fashion, but even when his models were completely naked, they were never vulgar and above all never victims.<\/p>\n
