Homage to Yohji by Beatrice Brandini<\/b><\/p>\n

Until July 31st it will be possible to see the wonderful and sculptural dresses of the great master Yohji Yamamoto<\/b> at the famous 10 Corso Como<\/b> store.<\/p>\n

A glimpse of the exhibition: Yohji Yamamoto: Letter to the Future<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The exhibition, curated by Alessio de’ Navasques<\/b>, presents 25 archive garments in a dialogue of iconic garments, recent and future collections, in a time space ranging from 1986 to 2024.<\/p>\n

The exhibition highlights the most important theme for the great Japanese master designer, namely the relationship between body and dress, insisting on the concept of imperfection and experimentation in shapes, fabrics and volumes.<\/p>\n

In fact, the great designer revolutionized the world of fashion with his conceptual and minimalist creations, making the color black his alter ego. \u201cBlack is lazy and easy, mysterious. But above all, black says this: I don’t disturb you and you must not disturb me.”<\/i><\/b> Yohji Yamamoto.<\/p>\n

A glimpse of the exhibition: Yohji Yamamoto: Letter to the Future<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Born in 1943 near Tokyo, a law degree and a diploma from the prestigious Bunka Fukuso Gakuin in Tokyo where he won a scholarship that took him directly to Paris, and it was here that his wonderful career would begin. It is 1981 and Yamamoto immediately begins a creative process of overturning patterns and trends. Initially dressing women in men’s clothing, exploring the connection between feminine and masculine, creating clothes that reflect on the body through their structure.\u00a0His indefinite cuts, his slashes and his austerity (still black), will be loved and worn by women with a strong personality and a sensitive soul, just like that of the designer, who has always never trivialized women.<\/p>\n

The curator de’ Navasques, professor of Fashion Archives at the Sapienza University of Rome, has set up each dress without scenographic devices (they are already the clothes be like this!), on sartorial busts similar to those of an atelier.<\/p>\n

An important message for the new generations who daily experience a concept of perfection that does not exist through social media.<\/p>\n

The 10 Corso Como store, a pioneering concept store created by Carla Sozzani<\/b>, is the ideal stage for this retrospective which arrives 13 years after the last one dedicated to the designer by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. A wonderful event that enthusiasts, and not only, will not be able to miss.<\/p>\n
