Of all the fairs organized by Pitti Immagine, this is my favourite. It is certainly the most specific one and for professionals, but also the one in which you understand why Italian fashion, and the whole sector that involves it, is so important and special. The artefacts (a term that expressed the beauty of craftsmanship, from the Latin manu factus “handmade”) are always wonderful, not only for creativity, color, combinations, textures, but above all for the skill with which they are made.<\/p>\n

FEEL THE CONTEST <\/b>The international Feel the Yarn<\/i> – Master Edition competition organized by CPF – Consorzio Promozione Filati <\/b>and aimed at students specializing in knitwear returns to Pitti Filati. The outfits of the 36 participants in the Contest were exhibited during the Florentine event, and here voted by an international jury and visitors to the fair. As always, the photos speak for themselves, great creativity and exceptional craftsmanship in the actual creation of the garments. It wasn’t knitting but it was art.<\/p>\n

STOLL<\/b> Italia is the subsidiary of the German manufacturer STOLL, a world leader in the production of flat knitting machines. Stoll Italia also acts as a consultant for companies, offering tailor-made solutions for research and development. Oriental mood for very sophisticated garments.<\/p>\n

IGEA <\/b>Since 1964, Manifattura Igea has represented one of the most important and consecutive yarn industries at an international level. It doesn’t need many more words to describe its authenticity and creativity. Every season femininity and creativity, with a French touch and a bit of yesteryear in the silhouettes.<\/p>\n

CONSINEE GROUP<\/b> is a leading company in the production of cashmere yarns, so much so that in the global market its production is around 20% of the total. I really liked the bon ton clothes that were reminiscent of Madame Coco.<\/p>\n

TOLLEGNO 1900 <\/b>another world leader in the production of combed yarns for knitting, specializing in Merino wool and fine and extrafine fibres. The entire production process is carried out internally. The headquarters are in Tollegno, in the Biella area, but it has commercial offices in New York, Osaka and Hong Kong. Sophisticated and very conceptual looks, always interesting.<\/p>\n

SESIA MANIFATTURE 1963<\/b><\/p>\n

SESIA MANIFATTURE 1963 <\/b>A pioneering attention to the environment (all raw materials are traced and certified), this company has made innovation one of its strong points. Creative yarns 100% Made in Italy. I really like how every season they manage to propose looks that mix creativity and rigor, amazing accessories with jacquard effects.<\/p>\n
