Memorabile.Ipermoda<\/i><\/b> is a very interesting exhibition because beyond the scenographic exhibition choices, it questions fundamental and more necessary than ever aspects such as: What does it mean to make fashion? Why is fashion so important and continues to surprise us, what do creative directors do\u2026?<\/p>\n

Curated by Maria Luisa Frisa<\/b>, in collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana <\/b>and the Bulgari Foundation,<\/b> this exhibition reveals many facets of fashion, presenting extraordinary \u201cobjects\u201d such as haute couture dresses alongside independent brands, heritage and innovation, and sustainability.<\/p>\n

\u201cMemorabile. Ipermoda<\/i><\/b> seeks to provide a snapshot of the imaginative and design richness of fashion in recent years. I am honored that this exhibition is a sign of significant system action between MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. In Italy, fashion entering the Museum takes on a special meaning. It means recognizing the value that fashion has in the contemporary cultural system.\u201d<\/i> Maria Luisa Frisa<\/p>\n

Memorabile <\/i>is a brave and perhaps even slightly presumptuous title, but it is also the right title for an exhibition that takes place inside a building, the Maxxi in Rome, dedicated to representing the arts of the 21st century. In a historical period in which clothes, more than ever, tell us who we are, in which the media exposure of one’s body (and clothes) has reached its peak, the title of the exhibition seems perfect to me.<\/p>\n

After all, way back in 1968 Andy Warhol had already predicted it: “In the future, everyone will be famous in the world for 15 minutes”<\/i>. More than ever, clothes demand this desire to arouse wonder, to be photographed, remembered and finally immortalized on social media.\u00a0“Through fashion, society puts itself on display and begins what it thinks of the world” <\/i>Roland Barthes<\/p>\n

Glimpses of the Maxxi Museum in Rome, one more reason to visit this exhibition<\/b><\/p>\n

Memorabile <\/b>is an adjective that means \u201can event marked by exceptionality and importance, the memory of which is destined to last over time, unforgettable\u201d<\/i>. I believe that fashion, true fashion, is exactly this. A sector that generates work and wealth, that makes our country unique in the world, and that the protagonists, the clothes, are a form of art and a way of communicating time and personality.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be on display at the Maxxi Museum in Rome until March 23, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n
