Lineapi\u00f9 <\/b>welcomed you to a veritable exhibition of the history of fashion and costume, showcasing extraordinary creations from the great Florentine company’s 51 years of activity, crafted primarily from one of their most iconic yarns: viscose. Dresses by Dior, Chanel, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, and Givenchy, to name a few, as well as Azzedine Ala\u00efa, with whom Lineapi\u00f9 created its first viscose yarn. As I entered, I thought that with these extraordinary garments alone\u2014after all, “just” a selection from their archive\u2014they would create a museum abroad.<\/p>\n

Research Space Overview<\/b><\/p>\n

Research Space: The theme of this edition is LINK<\/b><\/p>\n

Link, the main theme of the new Research Space, is a liquid journey through the history of signs and ink, which, as a primordial art form, reaches the present day and projects itself into the future. Link<\/b> is the relationship with the present, the transfer to the future, the indissoluble bond between peoples, eras, and epochs. The first tattoos date back to around 5,000 years ago; the designs were created for therapeutic, social, magical, or simply aesthetic purposes. The first traces of tattoos date back to prehistory, with examples suggesting a widespread practice in various ancient cultures. Over the centuries, tattoos have spread across various cultures, taking on different meanings depending on the historical and social context.<\/p>\n

In addition to textile machinery and the exquisite washes applied to luxury knitwear, the section also showcases other aspects of the creative process\u2014from embroidery to finishing and spinning, from cutting to design software, always under the creative guidance of Maurizio Brocchetto.<\/p>\n
