The Milano Unica collections for the Spring/Summer 2028 season are developed around the theme of METAMORPHOSIS—the idea of a transformation into a new aesthetic, as well as a profound shift in how we live and the value we place on things. At the heart of this change lies nature, where everything transforms and regenerates, altering its original form, color, and material composition.

METAMORPHOSIS becomes a way to live more lightly and authentically: re-evaluating our possessions, rethinking how we spend our time, and seeking to restore a new balance—both within ourselves and with the environment that surrounds us.

In the worlds of fashion and textiles, this manifests through the creation of materials that are lighter in weight and designed for longevity—utilizing technologies that are increasingly subtle, yet highly effective in promoting our well-being.

Thus, the word “lightness” also becomes a key term, for it translates literally into varying degrees of heaviness—addressing different climatic needs—while simultaneously encompassing a metaphorical lightness: that which resides within us, and which is so difficult to achieve.

There are three fundamental principles upon which the Spring/Summer 2028 collections are developed:

Lightening—a reduction in both physical and mental weight; an emphasis on technique and craftsmanship; and, finally, adaptability—materials and fabrics designed to suit a dynamic, multifaceted lifestyle that spans work, family, travel, and sport.

Fabrics are becoming lighter, more conscious, and more adaptable. Craftsmanship is regaining its value, while technology integrates seamlessly into everyday experience. Even wool—traditionally associated with the colder seasons—is evolving, achieving unprecedented levels of lightness through exceptionally fine qualities and ultralight constructions.
