We have just completed the twentieth edition of Milano Unica, the most important Italian exhibition (and not only) of Textiles, which this year celebrated the twenty editions, or ten years of great success.

In the last edition the visitors were almost 20,000, with 30% coming from all over the world. Given the signs of a small but important recovery of the economy, but above the turnout at the fair, we hope that the trend is confirmed and even exceeded.

These are the boards that I made from the Trends Area seen at the fair.

The importance of Milano Unica is that encompasses the best of the production of textiles and accessories in all its many variations and types, magnificent raw materials needed to build beautiful creations, without them it would be like a great cook devoid its ingredients. Ideabiella with its wonderful fabrics “classic” and of high-level, the same that allow Italy to maintain the primacy in the export of woolen products worldwide. Ideacomo with its precious silk and yet, the producers of Prato with their carded and innovative fabrics. the Italian Denim, project in collaboration with Pitti Immagine, dedicated to the supply chain of Italian denim garment washed, the Observatory Japan, an exhibition of the best Japanese companies in the production of technical textiles.

The direction of this season is NEO MODERNISM. “Most of all I remember the future”, a phrase of the great and eccentric Spanish artist Salvador Dali and the coordinator of the style of Milano Unica, Angelo Uslenghi, wanted to “borrow” to explain the esprit of this edition; the will to reconcile and REMEMBER and FUTURE, the Past as compared to the great tradition, but also stimulating and creative drive to keep going.

The direction NEO MODERNISM was divided into two main macro areas: DESIGNED SIMPLICITY  and ARTISTIC BOLDNESS, a simplicity designed and a bold artistic vibrancy.

These are the boards that I made from the Trends Area seen at the fair.
