Stanley Kubrick inspires the new Exquisite collection of the Gucci house, represented and celebrated also in an amazing press campaign (signed Mert & Marcus), in which the most famous films of the great director are faithfully reproduced with clothes designed by Alessandro Michele.

Kubrick was one of the greatest directors in the world, he has tried his hand at every genre, managing each time not only to make a masterpiece, but to make the film of that category a cult. I am thinking of the historical genre with Spartacus, the war genre with Full Metal Jacket, the horror genre with The Shining, the costume film with Barry Lindon, science fiction with 2001 A Space Odyssey…, all masterpieces and also milestones in the history of cinema.

The reconstruction of the scenes uses another genius, namely that of Milena Canonero who helped the Maison. Canonero, winner of four Academy Awards for best costumes, obtained her first statuette in 1976 for Barry Lindon.

The objectives of Exquisite, a collection in collaboration with Adidas, are manifold: first of all to mix luxury and everyday life, pathos and irony, eccentricity and refinement, the press campaign does nothing but emphasize this will, succeeding perfectly in its intent.
