Milano Unica COSMETICS: for this edition, it proposes the unprecedented combination of two very important fields of research, much closer than one might think: textiles and cosmetics, developing the collections for Spring – Summer 2027.

Textiles and cosmetics are the two points of contact on which the largest Italian textile and accessory manufacturers have developed their proposals for Milano Unica. After all, both textiles and cosmetics are two closely related worlds that together enhance, protect and dress our bodies.

Texture will be important; surfaces will make the difference, celebrating and enhancing tactile, visual, and olfactory sensations. In essence, the fabric becomes cosmetic: it hydrates, breathes, comforts, protects, and perfumes, becoming ever closer to our precious skin.

Indeed, the future of fashion and cosmetics, beyond the beauty of their products, will be increasingly intertwined, sharing values, processes, and production transparency. Starting from these considerations, MU COSMETIC has developed three major themes for Spring/Summer 2027.

MU COSMETIC NATURAL Mood by Beatrice Brandini

MU COSMETIC NATURAL, in which the ritual of natural skincare becomes inspiration for the world of textiles. The fabrics recall the organic nature of skin. The fibers are simple, such as organic cotton, combed and washed linen, bamboo or hemp jersey, voile, lightweight muslin, and Tacel. The washes are delicate, with a “clean skin” effect, breathable treatments, matte-soft finishes, and a powdery effect. Accessories include natural cord drawstrings, wooden buttons, and raw mother-of-pearl. Raw-edge details. The colors are green tea, clay, nude, soft linen, and terracotta gloss, lavender pink, and sky blue.

Mood MU COSMETIC SHADOW  by Beatrice Brandini

MU COSMETIC SHADOW. Primer, foundation, blush, and contouring that uses shadows and highlights to define facial features, creating three-dimensional effects. Evening cosmetics that meet the need for self-esteem and seduction. The aesthetic plays on theatricality and glamour. Fabrics include stretch satin and microfiber, shiny lace and laser-cut, double-layered organza tulle, tone-on-tone jacquard, iridescent nylon, and fluid, lightweight velvets. Treatments include glossy, reflective, and pearly polishes. Velvety and powdery finishes. Layered textures. Accessories include thin hooks and black enamel finishes. Applied crystals. Lacquered or tone-on-tone zippers. Dark metallic plating. Colors include greige eyeshadow, smoky silver, lacquered black, satin burgundy, powder pink, and pearl shadow.

MU COSMETIC SUN Mood by Beatrice Brandini

MU COSMETIC SUN, Inspiration comes from summer cosmetics, protective products like sunscreens, active waters, or refreshing oils. Hence the textile study of breathable materials, capable of filtering solar rays, thermal, refreshing, and scented. These include technical fabrics with a liquid feel or organic, lightweight, and impalpable fabrics. Glossy nylon, mother-of-pearl organza, technical jersey, glittery tulle. Iridescent effects, wet textures, or a dry oil effect. Accessories such as transparent or iridescent buttons, heat-sealed accessories, sporty mesh inserts, or waterproof zips. Colors include cool aloe, sea blue, warm orange, lipstick red, sunny yellow, and glossy pink.

At the risk of repeating myself, I think that if seeing exhibitions like these were enough to get us out of the crisis, I really believe we would be safe. The fabrics, accessories, washes, finishes, and the exhibition itself are incredibly interesting. The fruit of the labor of Italian companies that have passed down their expertise for generations, yet at the same time innovate by offering increasingly cutting-edge solutions, stoically resisting often “unfair” competition in terms of costs and production. I believe these products are our flagship, something the entire that the whole world envies us and tries to imitate, but which only Made in Italy can offer.

The next edition of Milano Unica will be held from January 20th to 22nd, 2026, slightly earlier than previous editions to address potential issues that may arise due to the Milan-Turin Winter Olympics. The event will be held in conjunction with Pitti Immagine and Milan Fashion Week.

Enjoy yourselves!
