For spring summer 2023 Pitti Filati has developed three main themes, which can be summarized in three other words: freedom, quality and necessity. They have collected them in the word DUAL, to underline the doubling, the duality, present in every theme, both from the material point of view (yarns) and from the conceptual one.

TANDEM This is the theme of freedom, which has the bicycle as its icon. A renewed desire to travel without limits, constraints and borders. Tradition and innovation; materials, colors and patterns are inspired by the oldest vehicle in history, which allowed man to shorten distances quickly and lightly, as well as daily.

KARAT It is the theme of quality, of preciousness. Quality will play an increasingly important role in the choice of the objects we will buy, not only for fashion, but also for food, to a broader concept of life and lifestyle. The seven metals, to which alchemy historically associated planets, properties and specific characters, are the common thread of this theme, which starts with gold and ends with iron. A precious, elegant fashion, especially suitable for special occasions.

NECESSIVE It is the theme of necessity, of what we really need. A theme that tends to a minimalism, to subtract the superfluous, but which on the other hand enhances the graphic use of color. The everyday shapes are made extraordinary by the color of the material and the functional detail. Beauty and travel bags (spaces where the bare essentials enter) inspire the shapes, colors and details of the knitwear of this theme.

“Knitwear Parade” is the installation that welcomes you at the entrance to the Stazione Leopolda. These are 78 knitwear looks that represent the final collections and industry projects of the young designers of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design of Accademia Costume & Moda and Modateca Deanna. Wonderful student projects realized thanks to a collaboration with the Supply Chain.
