Pitti Immagine Filati: YARNS UNITED (part one)

Preparation Pitti Immagine Filati, in Fortezza da Basso

Mood “N.G.O.” by Beatrice Brandini

Today closes the eighty-sixth edition of Pitti Filati, the most authoritative fair in terms of threads, colors, trends.

For this first part I prepared some mood boards where I collected and interpreted the images of the Research Area.

Space Search Pitti Immagine Filati

TRADITION, IDENTITY, RECOGNIZABILITY, COMMITMENT, COMMUNICATION and COHESION were the keywords that become the flag of future fashion. Flag as will be the general theme of the Pitti Immagine Corporate Fairs. The flag as a symbol of belonging and identity, of recognition and sharing. Flag as choices and passions, flag as a story of ourselves. From the simple cloth with colored stripes, to the funeral flags, to the festive, patronal, protest ones…, there are many flags as well as their meanings.

Six are the themes of the research area, each type of flag declines one in a clear and specific way.

N.G.O Non-governmental organizations that monitor human rights, health, childhood, ecology issues … the latter, one of the most urgent, is the one that inspired the flags of this theme, proposing beautiful, playful designs, telling with poetry a real drama. Warm and sunny colors like mandarin, clover green, cherry red, Africa brown.

Moda Futuribile  – Dyloan Studio

Once again very interesting the proposal of Dylon Studio which in this edition of Pitti Filati promoted artifacts made by historic knitwear factories with innovative and precious materials (Filpucci, Filmar, Filatura di Collegno and Botto Giuseppe) customized by the artist No Curves, master in the use of adhesive tape.

I was lucky enough to witness a live customization of Elvis’s face by the artist No Curves.

Good life to everyone!
