Milan fashion week, what will we wear next summer? (Second part).

POP” mood by Beatrice Brandini

Let’s start again with the Milan catwalks for Spring Summer 2022 introducing the POP theme.

POP: graffiti, geometries, flowers, drawings stolen from a kaleidoscope, tributes to icons like that of Fendi for Antonio Lopez and much more. Fashion embraces art in a lighter and less conceptual way. The intent is always to remove the greyness of winter and the pandemic. We are living beings who need to exorcise, also through artistic expression, our restlessness and the will to turn the page. What historical moment could have been more suitable if not the freedom that characterized the 60s and 70s?

FEATHERS: A tribute to the elegance of the fifties and sixties, with feathered mini dresses, but also to the divas of silent cinema with their feather-trimmed dressing gowns. They are almost always a characterization, a detail, such as a hem or a sleeve, but sometimes they are also the only protagonists. In any case aren’t never exaggerated, but always very refined. W the feathers!

KAKI: Khaki with all its shades up to military green. There are those, like Dolce & Gabbana, who mix camouflage with sequins and preciousness (beautiful!), There are those who make it extremely refined and essential (Max Mara, Alberta Ferretti and Danile Calcaterra). It is a riot of the most refined shades of all, that color and mood that makes you immediately imagine Karen Blixen in her Africa.

I have to add some other big themes that are the protagonists of the next Spring Summer. Leather, treated like a fabric, for impalpable dresses, tops and dusters. White and Orange, two shades present in all the catwalks. Flowers (which I had already highlighted in NY fashion shows). Denim, refined or frayed and a little hippy, denim forever.

Good life to everyone!

Beatrice
