Women: THE FLOWERS of humanity.

One of the most beautiful things in the world is undoubtedly WOMAN. The woman who is friend, companion, wife, mother, sister.

In recent months, unfortunately, you have often been the protagonist of the news, especially due to feminicides and acts of violence. Daily, systematic and structural violence. A horde of madness which, despite awareness campaigns, debates and targeted laws, does not seem to stop. An emergency for which we must fight, but above all educate.

A beautiful exhibition in Brescia “Until we are free” (title from the book by Shirin Ebadi), highlights the dramatically current theme of the female condition in the world, with a particular focus on Iran, but also on China and Turkey. Providing not only a testimony of horror, but also a positive and hopeful message for artists, for example Iranian, who have established themselves internationally.

I don’t want to say how extraordinary women are, it would be rhetorical and banal, but thinking of women as flowers would be a wonderful message to convey to children.

Women shape and give balance to everything they encounter, just like the flowers that give rise to life. Women struggle to assert themselves in a world that is still radically chauvinist. Women often pay a very high price for their career, giving up children and family. Women are appreciated (or despised) for their appearance from birth (what a beautiful girl!), undermining, sometimes irreparably, their confidence or awareness.

I have met many women throughout my life, realizing how they have often been the pivot of the family, of the 360-degree social fabric. Women within companies, schools, boards of directors… are fundamental, with a capacity for sacrifice far superior to that of men.

But it’s not a fight between the sexes, we already have our work cut out for us where it’s difficult for us to team up with each other, but to find a way to collaborate, help each other, where differences should be opportunities.

I have a son and every day I convey to him how extraordinary women are.

Flowers that grow in harsh conditions

I like to think that women, just like these two flowers born in an arid and impossible soil, shine for their beauty but above all for their STRENGTH, the strength of women.
